Dalmatians - Pictures - How to Determine a Responsible Breeder
Dalmatians are a special breed of dog that imposes a great responsibility on its owner from the first days of its appearance in the household. To properly raise a Dalmatian puppy, one is supposed to know much about the general dog care and surely, about the breed's peculiarities. This is not an easy task for those who do not receive any assistance from breeders, and have to deal with Dalmatians single handed.

The obvious way out is finding a reputable Dalmatian breeder who does not wash his hands off once he has sold a puppy. But here one more question arises. What is the most secure means of determining a responsible breeder?
First of all, there is some sense to contact local breed clubs. Since the Dalmatian is a popular breed, it will not be a problem to locate a club in your area, or near-by. Dalmatian clubs usually have a number of breeders who stood the test of time, and are known for producing sound puppies. Many of them are frequent participants in conformation and other Dalmatian activities. Rescue work can also be a part of their duties as one of the conditions of a club membership. It is rescue experience that makes breeders aware of the devastating results of breedings in puppy mills and at the backyard.
Puppy mills are thought to be one of the major contributors to rescues. They are characterized by a great number of dogs kept in one place which is rather dirty. The bad smell and poor conditions that the Dalmatians are kept in should make one prick up their ears immediately.
Try to contact many breeders and discuss various issues concerning his dogs. To profit more from the conversation find out as much as possible about breeding lines, the process of socialization, and activities parent dogs are involved in. Also, ask for advice on raising Dalmatians. A responsible breeder will supply you with addresses of clubs and veterinarians experienced with Dalmatians.

Dalmatians Breeders - Dalmatians are old dogs whose appearance did not change greatly over a great period of time. It is definite that the breed was known in many countries and used to perform various functions. Nowadays, nobody can say for sure what the exact origin of the Dalmatian is. Many countries attempted to prove being privy to the dog's development. However, the official version speaks in favor of Dalmatia, a part of Croatia.
There are a few speculations concerning the breed's name. Many dog fanciers admit that it were British breeders who popularized its present day name. A huge relief found in Dalmatia, and depicting a similar dog, probably gave the impetus to the breed's name. Still, it can be that Dalmatian ancestors were firstly used in Dalmatia to guard their border from Turkish armies. The fact that these dogs were widely spread in Dalmatia is prompted by evidence that a huge kennel breeding about 500 Dalmatians was situated in this region.
Dalmatians - Dalmatians are medium-sized, well-balanced dogs serving mainly as a watchdog, companion, therapy dog and performing in agility, flyball and some other canine sports. They are active and intelligent, and need training from an early age.
Dalmatians are rather easy to take care for. Their short coat demands an occasional bath, and regular brushing. Also, Dalmatians require a great deal of exercise, especially as young dogs.
Dalmatians Puppies - Dalmatians are very popular dogs. This popularity was fueled by the famous movie and happened to be crucial for the breed. Besides love and affection, it created many misconceptions concerning the Dalmatian's personality.
Though the Dalmatian is an intelligent, friendly dog, it can be hard to train. It needs a firm hand but cannot bear harsh training methods. It is also not always good with strangers. The Dalmatian appears to be suspicious and makes a good watchdog.
Dalmatians - Dalmatians are medium-sized, well-muscled and short-coated dogs. Dalmatians are active and energetic, and built well for long distance endurance and
stamina. They are people oriented dogs; they love spending plenty of time around their families.
